NEM 3.0 - What does it mean for you?

Net metering, or NEM, allows solar energy users to earn credits for any excess solar electricity they send to the grid. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) voted unanimously on December 15, 2022, to approve NEM 3.0, which will significantly reduce net metering compensation rates for new California solar customers by about 75 percent. Home owners have until April 14, 2023 to submit an application if they want to lock in NEM 2.0 rates for 20 years. For more information on net metering and how to apply for NEM 2.0 click here.
